Tempered glass is made by heating flat glass to just below its softening temperature and suddenly hilling it with jets of cold air. It results the ouler skins under powerful compressive strss and the interior with severe tensile stress. In comsequence, the impact applied to the glass will be overcome by the compressional force on the surfaces to assure safety of use.

Tempered glass is high strengh. Its compressive strength could be more than 125MPA, It is 4-5 times higher than normal glass and also shockproof. It is unwounded when a steel ball that is 0.8kg fall dowm from 1.2m high.

Tempered glass also called toughened glass, it is proced a compression stress on the surface of glass use of the method of chemistry or physics. It makes the glass have higher compression strength and hard to be damaged. When glass offered the external stress, the compression stress bears offset part of tension glass, to avoid the broken of glass. Although the inside of tempered glass is at tension stress, it is flawless, and won't be damaged so as to improve the strength of glass.

Tempered glass is also the secondary processing production of flat glass. The processing of tempered glass can not be divided into physical methods and chemical methods.

The flexibility of tempered glass is much higher than normal glass. A piece of tempered glass which size is 1200mm*350mm*6mm can be 100mm bending deflection when it is stressed. After stress can restorable. But the general glass can be bending to several millimeters.
